Welcome! Listen to my original song about Saint Frere Andre and the Oratory of St. Joseph in French, English and Spanish in My Space (it's free) http://www.myspace.com/tessietan
At the Olympic Stadium with the new "saint" Brother Andre. Actually I had tickets 1-12 but I sat at seat 4, Row 103 RR, it's among the first middle rows facing directly the altar and TV monitor. I will be posting some of the photos I took soon.
The different TV news reported varying statistics. The Canadian Press news says that there were about 45,000 people while CBC and Montreal Police say 30,000. Who to believe? Nonetheless, that's less than the 50,000 for the beatification celebrations of Brother Andre in May 1982 and less than the 60,000 predicted by Fr. Pierre Dufour of the Oratory.
Thousands attend Saint Brother Andre service
Organizers estimated about 45,000 people attended the event.

"We expect to attract between 50,000 and 60,000 people at Olympic Stadium," said Pierre Dufour, vice-rector of the Oratory. "This will probably be the biggest event since the 1976 Olympics."

St. André's heart brings Montrealers closer to God
Estimated 30,000 faithful flock to Big O for 'our brother, our friend'
He and his mother, Denise, were part of a crowd of 30,000 who flocked to the Olympic Stadium on Saturday afternoon to remember and celebrate one of our own, elevated to sainthood on Oct. 17 in Rome.
The Montreal celebrations were so that everyday folks who couldn't make the trip to St. Peter's Square could share in the pomp and ceremony.
Tickets were a mere $5 and 42,000 of them were sold as of Friday, but police said only 30,000 people actually showed up.

Thousands gather at Olympic Stadium to honour Saint Andre
Organizers were hoping to fill the stadium with 50,000 supporters. It cost $5 to attend.
On Saturday afternoon, CTV Montreal Bureau Chief Genevieve Beauchemin said that thousands had piled into the stadium for the event.
But she said that it wasn't without some controversy, as a group had gathered to draw attention to cases of sexual abuse at the hands of the clergy.
Beauchemin said that the demonstrators were discreet and respectful, given that they "didn't want to be disruptive of the celebration."

Saint Frere Andre Song launch in MySpace
Welcome! Listen to my original song about Saint Frere Andre and the Oratory of St. Joseph in French, English and Spanish in MySpace http://www.myspace.com/tessietan
It's "free" to listen in My Space.
I went to the viewing of the canonization of Brother Andre direct from Rome at the Oratory of Saint Joseph. Whew! It was a very long vigil. I was there from 2 AM to 7AM. Before 2 AM we were busy preparing the (prototype) CD which I gave as a gift to each priest I knew at the Oratory. It was very expensive to print the booklet and produce the CD. No wonder most CD's are produced and printed in other countries.
Towards the canonization date, at their website, the Oratory moved the viewing from the basilica to the crypt church. So even if the crypt church was packed (as the media reported), the amount of people was still too few for the big basilica. The weather was a little chilly but pleasant.

Launch of Saint Frere Andre song, October 13, 2010, anniversary of St. Joseph's apparition in Fatima
Today is the anniversary of the apparition of St. Joseph at Fatima. He appeared with Mary at the Miracle of the Sun in Fatima on October 13, 1917. This is the most significant apparition of St. Joseph. He held Jesus on his left arm as he blessed the world three times for world peace.
St. Joseph never appeared at the Oratory nor to Brother Andre.
To honor St. Joseph, we are launching my song about Brother Andre and the Oratory of St. Joseph in MySpace http://www.myspace.com/tessietan

10-10-10
8-8-8 Olympics in Beijing
10-10-10 Saint Andre song was first recorded in Montreal and launched in My Space!

Saint Joseph inspired the lyrics on Saint Andre.
Our Lady of Lourdes inspired the words on Saint Joseph and Jesus.
10-10-10 is our Olympics for Frere Andre and we have achieved it as planned!
10-10-10 is our Olympics for the Oratory of St. Joseph and we have achieved it as planned!
The Saint Frere Andre song and the Oratory of St. Joseph song took 25 years to compose!!
For those who have faith, no explanation is necessary. For those without faith, no explanation is sufficient.
I never planned (no one can) Brother Andre's canonization this coming October 17, 2010 in Rome (I have no contacts at the Vatican). It is exactly 7 days after 10-10-10. It is a mere coincidence. Or is it a God-incidence?
And to think that I did not catch colds so I can sing and record this song on this very day 10-10-10 as planned years ago as inspired by St. Joseph at the Oratory!
